Well, yesterday, I did it. I finished Taylor's "That's So Raven" coordinate. I was seriously dreading making the vest\jacket because of all the pieces - I mean 11 seems a bit excessive, doesn't it? But, I have to admit, I actually had fun putting this little number together!

All the pieces went well together, the instructions were clear, and I liked adding all the details. I wound up topstitching extra pieces - I did it in pink so it really stood out, especially after the rhinestones were applied. Here's a close up of the pocket detail:

I felt like this pattern ran a bit on the small side. So I really had to tweek the capri's to make them fit Taylor better. Basically, I cut a 12 in the waist and hips (I took in an extra 1/4-1/2 inch when sewing, however, because when I flat measured them to her current RTW pants, they looked a hair too big), took in the legs to a size 11 (cutting in between the 10 & 12 size), made the rise of the pants a size 10, and made the length a size 9. WHEW - sounds confusing? Try cutting it out! Overall, the capris fit well, they are a bit loose on her in the waist, but I figure that after washing them, they'll shrink up a smidge.

I've added yet another project to the sidebar....Simplicity 4260. Taylor picked this one out along with the black denim fabric a few weeks back. This gives me the perfect opportunity to use my rhinestone hotfix applicator (the pattern calls for 100 rhinestones)!
