New Fabric Arrival
Don't you hate it when you spend a great deal of time writing only to find that it never saved? That's what happened with this entry - I rambled on and on about my new fabrics only to find that the internet was down this morning and it never saved. So instead of going on about my new material from Gorgeous Fabrics I'll show you a picture instead:

I have firm plans for only one of the fabrics - I'm thinking the stripe on the left would look fabulous made into a sporty tank like Jalie 2565 (although I don't own the pattern) and may use the pink floral in something like McCall 5585 (if I could only find where to get a chunky chain for the strap - does anyone have a resource for this?) or Simplicity 2922, although I have several tops with a similar neckline.
As for my trip to Joann's last night - I didn't come back home with any material... just 2 patterns and some interfacing. Woohoo for self restraint!

Good for you on resisting temptation so well!
I managed to visit G Street Fabrics on the second day of a month-long sale - 30% off plus I had an 'extra 25% off one item' coupon!" - walking out with just one pattern. I kept the visit very short and did not allow myself to fondle fabric.
But I probably won't last a whole MONTH!

Pretty fabrics! I love to get a box from Ann :D
That McCalls pattern is so cute, but I HATE when they do things like that. The average every day seamstress doesn't have access to designer trims, etc. I checked my jewelry & trim sources, and I don't see anything that heavy or wide. I think you might have luck checking handbag supplies? Or belt supplies? Heck, you could probably find a RTW gold (or any metal finish) belt chain that you like and salvage it for the neckline strap.

I love your fabrics! And Yah!!! for your self restraint. I cannot go into a fabric store without buying something!
As for the McCalls pattern, I find the best place for strange stuff like the chain is actually the hardware store. They usually sell it by the meter (or Yard) and it comes in various thicknesses, depending on how big the store is. Ours usually only has silver colored, because it is so small.
Good Luck with the projects!
