Still Here And Now With New Books
It's now 4 days past my due date and I'm still here - I now believe I am no longer delivering a baby, but a toddler. Since I'm now reaching the point where I'm really uncomfortable, I decided to go ahead and get up early this morning and have some quiet time with the computer before everyone gets up. While reading my mail, I was so excited to see that Wendy Mullin from Built by Wendy is going to be the guest on Pattern Review's expert chat tonight! I normally have to miss PR's expert chats because of Taylor's evening activities, so I'm happy that I'll be able to finally 'attend' one. Of course, that email also reminded me that she has a book out soon - when I looked it up on Amazon, I realized that they already have it in stock! Needless to say, I put Sew U Home Stretch: The Built by Wendy Guide to Sewing Knit Fabrics (because I loved Wendy's last book and knits have now become one of my favorite materials to work with) as well as The Big-Ass Book of Crafts
in my cart. Be prepared for lots of book reviews soon (I have 2 more books in addition to these as well as an instructional DVD to write up)!
What have you all been reading lately (sewing related or not)?

Not only are you still here - you're still blogging and sewing!!! Another round of applause from me!
I've been reading my old BWOF's at the moment - I'm looking for inspiration for summer sewing and I find that flicking through magazines usually sparks off some ideas in my head.

I'm reading your blog and wondering how you are able to still walk around, let alone sew!
HAHAHAHAHAHAHA! ;)
I've been reading Bead Simple, and I've also been reading through some old Sewing with Nancy books. The styles, etc. are dated, but she's got some great tips in there. ;)
Good luck! I hope this is your last pregnant post! We need to start a pool on when you'll deliver!

I keep hoping that every time I see a new entry on your blog that it will be "Off to Hospital!" So, yes, do plan on the chat with Wendy. Maybe that way Mr. Murphy will step in and you'll be delivering a new baby instead. I had 2 c-sections so I never even made it *to* the due date. But the recovery afterward was probably not the best tradeoff for that.

Hope you don't have to wait on that baby much longer. I'm sure you are very excited to see him as soon as possible!
I hit the library rather heavily recently. Here's a book report;
I "speed-read" two new "kitsch" craft books. I forget the name if the one I have already returned but it was pretty awful stuff the author had crafted out of old kitsch. The second one is called "Kitschy Crafts" and has essentially reprints of some old craft patterns to make the original stuff we now call "kitsch"(sock monkey, latch hook rug, etc, and some really odd stuff like a bunch of "grapes"made of peach pits- which still just look like the pits, ha-ha.) Not much there I would spend my time making but the old ads and photos are fun to look at.
Also read/skimmed "The Organic Suburbanite" and picked up a few new ideas on how to live greener.
Currently reading "Time to Weave", which has easy and very innovative weaving projects that mostly don't need a loom. I may actually buy that book.
Also reading "The Greeenlanders", a long novel by Jane Smiley, set in the 1300's. Super-slow-moving but really immerses you in another time and place. I find it a good escape form usual life and read just a bit each night to savor it. It's no page-turner, anyway. Ha-ha.
All this bookishness has put me seriously behind on my magazines, which are piling up.

Oh bother. Fingers crossed for you.
I tried my hand on a zipper again making another stash and dash bag and success! So, I'm going to make the bigger bag today (I made a coin purse last night). Also made some drawstring bags for storing stuff in the car (yes - I coordinated fabric for what I was storing - bandaid covered fabric for our emergency kit, jumprope fabric for our jumpropes...).
Here's hoping I don't see a post from you tomorrow. LOL.

You're not comfortable, but this is a treat for us -- just when we expect no posts from you, another one turns up!

I just knew today's post would be that you had Easton.
This weekend I picked up Generation T - 108 ways to transform a T-shirt and so easy...Home Sewing. I can't wait to make several items out of both them.

Oh you poor thing! Soon, soon...
I'm reading "The Tailor's Daughter" by Janice Graham as my leisure, before-bed book, and now that I've got my felling and rolled hem feet, I'm going through "Shirtmaking" by David Page Coffin in prep for my next sewing project.
(I love the final bling on the black shirt, too. It couldn't even stay quiet for the photo!)
