New Patterns

At the beginning of this month I said I wouldn't purchase fabric during February, but apparently, it hasn't stopped me from picking up a couple of patterns! First off my Emmeline apron pattern arrived in the mail! I'm so excited to give this one a try since the style is so fabulous and it's completely reversible! I also love the fact that each side (not including the ties) takes 1 yard of fabric - I can't wait to go shopping! I also broke down and got the new Hot Patterns Plain and Simple Boy Short Body. I'd love to be able to start working on this one soon as I LOVED bodysuits, but I'm going to have to wait until after I deliver so I can see where my measurements are going to be (not to mention if the length of the body suit is going to be enough to go around my longer torso - even though I'm short, I'm long waisted). Lastly, on a whim, I picked up New Look 6784. I am really attracted to the contrasting bustline - although, it's that design feature that has me the most worried about how it's going to look on me!

Although I haven't purchased it yet, I've been mulling over the idea of buying the next issue of Ottobre Woman. CraftyMamas listed the patterns for this issue:

This issue includes twenty (20) patterns for women (European sizes 34-52) - a neat spring coat, wide-leg linen pants, a sweet blouse, a special-occassion dress, a tunic, leggins plus other casual wear sewn from knits. Also fitness and exercise apparel for active women and a fresh collection for mothers-to-be.

Even though there aren't any pictures up yet (other than the cover on the left), the description sounds right up my alley!

Thanks for the heads up on the Emmaline pattern. I signed up for her mailing list but never received an email saying the pattern was out. I am definitely going to order this one. It is so darn cute!

That Emmeline Apron is so cute - it's almost a dress (jumper). I wonder if a wrap back could be added by seaming on some panels.

Hi Stacy! Some time lurker, first time commenter. I love your work.

I just came by the work you did on the HotPatterns La Rue Messenger bag, and I was wondering if you still had the down load for it somewhere. I have been trying to get my hands on that pattern forever! It's become quite elusive. If you do have it, would you be willing to send it to me? Please let me know. Thanks and keep up the good work!

Veronica - what a timely question! I was going to put up a post that the latest Be Sew Stylish (which is now called Craft Stylish) has a LaRue bag pattern inside. It's not the Hot Pattern's version, but you can't tell the difference. From what I can tell, it's a very similar pattern, except the tassel is constructed differently. There are also two other bag patterns included in this issue that are worth a look too!

I was just looking at that apron pattern a couple days ago! I think I am ready to make some more aprons again. The mixing of colors and styles is just so fun.

I just got the Emmeline pattern too! Can't wait to make it up. I'm supposed to be on a fabric diet myself, but had a horrendous slip. I'm back on the wagon again and can hopefully make it 30 days without a new purchase. I'm not supposed to buy patterns either, but JoAnn's has a $1.99 McCalls sale this weekend and, of course, I have a long list.
