Links For The Weekend

It looks as if it's going to be another wintery weekend here (how I long for spring!) which means that aside from cleaning, I'll be getting some time in the sewing room. So if you're like me - needing some inspiration to keep the winter blues away, check out some of these links:

It's a Peep Show! Take those sugary Peep treats and turn them into characters in your own diorama and you could win $101 and bragging rights.

Make an oven mitt to coordinate with your kitchen. [link via Design Sponge]

Bring a little spring inside and create a cute Bunny Pillow. [link via Craft]

Amy Butler craft bags are at A.C. Moore. I wish we had one here!

If I hadn't already filled up on too many Valentine's treats, I'd be making these cupcakes today. My mouth starts watering every time I look at them.

Simple alterations you can make to any bag.

If you're great with a needle and thread, be sure to check out Posie Gets Cozy's free embroidery designs for dishtowels. Sunday's is definitely my favorite.

Father's day is still far off, but if you've been searching for a good tie tutorial, your wait is over. BurdaStyle has instructions for a 4 fold, lined, silk tie.

Denyse Schmidt, author of Denyse Schmidt Quilts, has a free coaster project up at Sew, Mamma, Sew! I love her version, it looks like summer!

If I had a large sewing studio, I'd fill my room with these. [link via Decor8]

Oh, this winter is the worst. We are supposed to have a snowstorm AGAIN tomorrow. This will ruin my birthday plans. :-(

Thanks for the link to my Prince Cupcakes. They are sinful and delicious but, alas, not calorie-free.

Love that "Sunday" towel embroidery, too. Might try that myself - in chain stitch which is just so easy. I used to find hand-embroidery very relaxing and "'tactile". Also portable.

And perhaps a pocket pillow with an Easter bunny would be fun for my tot grandson! I think I even have some scraps of the blue and yellow napped fabrics I used to make a stuffed bunny and chicks for his dad at age two! That son picked out the fabrics with me way back when. But I doubt he remembers! LOL

I also saw that Amy Butler bag in the Oriental Trading scrapbooking catalog, if you don't have AC Moore :-)
