Mail Call
The mail service was kind to me yesterday - delivering all sorts of goodies to my mailbox. Not only did my Nappy Bag pattern arrive, but an absolutely amazing package from Sassy Priscilla:

Awhile back, she held a contest to win a copy of The Prairie Girl's Guide to Life: How to Sew a Sampler Quilt & 49 Other Pioneer Projects for the Modern Girl (I couldn't find a link on Amazon for this title) and I won! Not only did she send me the book, but all sorts of wonderful goodies as well: some beautiful baby themed fabrics (I'm thinking of using the Laura Ashley nursery print for my Nappy Bag), a delicious cinnamon from Penzey's Spices, Rosemary Balm in a fun carrying container, some hand creams, and baby patterns! Thank you soooooo much! I've already started reading the book last night and can't wait to use the rest of my package!
My first order from Sewzanne's also arrived:

This was the first time that I had ordered from this site and I can say that I will definitely be a repeat customer! I had ordered a yard of blue\white stripe interlock, the snap setter tool (and a lot of extra snaps), and the Grab Bag (I love grab bags). I had put in a note that if possible to send me 'boyish' fabrics and did she ever deliver! LOOK at all the great fabrics I received - most are knits (yay) while there is also a couple of fleeces and flannel in there as well.
Now my biggest problem, what's going to be the next project and what fabrics to use first?

Some of my favorites are the Old World Seasoning, their basic seasoned salt (it has an odd name that I can't think of right now - 4C maybe?) and their spices and spice blends are fabulous! Apple and Pumpkin pie spice. Oh, and their chili powder blends are terrific. I also buy vanilla beans from them to make my own vanilla extract for baking.
Now I'm hungry!!!

I'm so pleased you found a use for the fabric! Baby fabric is so fun and makes me wistful.
Penzey's does have great spices. They didn't have new catalogs when I picked up the cinnamon but you can get on their catalog mailing list at penzeys.com.
Your order looks fun from Sewzanne's. You can use that fleece to make burping cloths and the flannel to make a stroller blanket or car blanket or a changing pad. Once again, I am wistful for baby stuff!
You'll love that snap setter. If you go to the snap setter website, you can find many custom colors, too.

You will absolutely love the Prairie Girls Guide to Life! It is a great book! I got it right before Christmas and finished it in two days. I know that I am a Prairie Girl at heart. I love fabric. It is hard to find good boys fabric for boys.

I hope you like my book as much as I loved writing it! I'm just now getting into sewing and would love your opinion on what machine to buy!

I have about 1 1/2 yards of that Laura Ashley, so let me know if you need more to make something to coordinate with your nappy bag. I'd be happy to send it. Didn't even know I had it until I redid my closet! LOL
