Christmas Continues!

Finally, a weekend without an ice storm or blizzard! Since the weather is looking like it's going to cooperate, we're finally heading out to do Christmas with Bret's family. Consequently, I won't be starting on any new projects, so I'll leave you all with some ones that you can work on over the weekend:

Just looking at all these goodies makes me hungry..... wait, are those felt?

If your kids are like mine, they still haven't headed back to school after Christmas break. Which means there's still time to send them back in style with these cool pencil bags. [link via Craft]

Speaking of kids, if you have a children's craft that you've created and would like to share, then you might win $50 in craft supplies. Read these rules for more information.

Do you know someone who has an interest in sewing, but still hasn't learned yet? Send them this link for Threadbanger's video podcast that unlocks the mysteries of the sewing machine.

Diving into the mind of a handbag genius!

Curious what Knitting Daily's the most downloaded patterns of 2007 were? Watch this slideshow to find out. My favorite? The Modern Quit Wrap - gorgeous!

It may have been out for awhile, but it's gotten nothing but fantastic reviews, so here's your chance to win your own copy of The Apron Book.

After making a quick and easy baby blanket I'm definitely in the mood to make more. Not only does this tutorial make one blanket, but a changing pad and burp cloth as well. [link via Whip Up]

Hi there,
Just found your blog and I love it. My hope is to make '08 the year of sewing my own clothes. I hope you don't mind a very beginner question. If I want to make a stretch knit top that has a nice soft feel to it, how do I choose fabric? I'd like to make it out of a very nice t-shirt type fabric. Do you have any suggestions for the name/kind of fabric I should look for and good online stores where I can find it?
Thanks!
