Messy But Good

My chenille project is finished! I'm really pleased with the way it turned out, but since this is for an article, I really can't get too specific with this garment, so I'll leave you with a teaser. I will say, that I loved the fabric that I purchased (from Fabric.com) - I didn't have any issues working with it (yay for fabric that behaves), but like all chenille, it leaves quite the mess. You can tell from the residue left inside the serger that it took quite awhile to clean all the machines out, but now they are 'sparkling clean' and in moving condition.

So, what's next?

Lots of packing. What I'd rather be working on is: Hot Pattern's new (free) Ruffled Tote (maybe in a brown faux suede - I have some that I purchased from Walmart last year after seeing Erica use the same material for a fabulous jacket), Jalie's new Sweatheart Top in the Shadow Dots material that I purchased recently from Gorgeous Fabrics, or my Mr. & Mrs. Gnome plush. I also have an idea for making a baby quilt using the left-over brown chenille bits, but I need more materials for that before I undertake a quilt!

What will you be working on this week?

Yuck, packing is no fun!
I'm working on the Sophia bag from Amy Butler this week. I think it would make a cute gift!

That brown chenille looks yummy...brown is my main color this season, so I am drawn to rich browns and burnt oranges!!! I will be finishing up Christmas gifts which means a lot of embroidery and then the EMP6 Baby is going to the spa for a well deserved service. Hope the packing and moving go smoothly...Mary

Can't wait to see what the chenille project is! I agree, chenille is so very messy. I haven't a clue what I'm working on this week. Right now I'm hoping it will just be a productive one! :-) Happy packing!
