And We're Back....

What a wonderful trip we had! I got to catch up with everyone, ate way too much food, attempted to shop (too bad it was sweltering heat which made us all give up early), and got to see two of my best friends from high school (pictured above).

Now that we're home and have 'rested up' (Bret's still trying to get his sleep, he came home with a wicked cold), I'm trying to catch up on my emails, blogs, sewing, and posts of my own!

What's up for this week? Well, for starters, partners were announced for the "I can _____, but I can't ______" swap. I'll be making a wrap top for her and plan on using Jalie 2449. I'll probably have to purchase some additional fabric for this one, but hope to have a majority of it in my stash (chocolate brown is one of her favorite colors so I think I'll use some of the material that I have left over from the contrast and straps on this top) - while I'm at it, I might make one for myself! I also have some fun books to review and another completed project to talk about (#4) - there's a small photo on the right just to give you a preview!

What a cool SWAP idea! If I weren't so swamped, I'd love to do something like that. I can't wait to see what you make!

Stacy,
I have a huge favor to ask.......I emailed you a while back to ask your advice about sewing on knits and you graciously answered my questions. THANKS! I have decided to try Jalie 2449 and wanted to order the pattern as well as some fabric. For some reason I have been unable to get any links I've tried to show the back of the pattern envelope so I can see how many yard to order. I wanted to order the pattern and fabric so they would come together. You and I are probably close to the same size. Could you email me with how much 60" fabric would be needed for the short sleeve version? THANKS so much. I've tried looking on several sites to see the back of the envelope and for some reason I am having no luck.

I am in the same swap. I am making a twin sized quilt... WHAT DID I SIGN ON FOR? It will be fun, but man - 9/10 is coming a lot faster now. :)
