Nuts: With A Twist
Yesterday afternoon, I met with a fellow Wichitan, Sherri, and we ventured out to a new yarn shop called Twist. Talk about eye candy - there were walls and racks of beautiful yarn everywhere!
After browsing the store for quite some time, I decided on an interesting skein called Confusion. They had made a sample scarf from one ball and it looked as if it had been made using 5-7 different kinds of yarns - it was so beautiful that I couldn't help but try it out (and considering that I haven't graduated from knitting scarfs, this seemed like a perfect project for me). Now if I can just dig though the boxes for my circular needles!
On the way home we stopped by one of our favorite treat stops - The Nifty Nut House. I've got a whole pound of wasabi peas to munch on while I decide what my next project will be!

Those peas look delicious!

Ohhhhhh lovely!! I haven't even THOUGHT about knitting yet (toooo hot here). A new yarn shop opened up here and I haven't been in yet, but my sister says it's like being like a child in a magnificent fairy tale land *snicker* I'll tote along my camera when I go ;)
Okay, now to the real question....
have you ate those peas and did they give you any ideas on what to work on yet?? ;).
I want to think about some projects I can take along on our camping trip...hmmmm.

I visited a nifty new yarn store recently, too! Must be a hint of fall in the air. I have also almost finished "reading" a most excellent crochet book: "The Happy Hooker" and now really want to dust off my skills and make something.

Love that yarn! I just bought some yarn today too at Joann's $.97 a skein. I was so excited. I am coming to Wichita in August, I need the address for that yarn shop!

Oh what a great idea! One yarn that is different colors. See, I've decided to teach myself how to make a granny square for the cute handbag I posted about today, but since I don't know what the heck I'm doing, and I sure don't want a plain jane granny square, this would be my perfect solution.
BTW, you have to check out my post tomorrow about my one month blog-iversary. You're getting a very well-deserved and long overdue plug!

Yes! I'm definitely in the mood for fall sewing and crafting - I think that's why I was so attracted to this yarn and knitting up a scarf! Bernadette - does that book have instructions on how to crochet?
The yarn shop is called Twist and is 602 W. Douglas in Wichita (in the Delano district).
Diann - an early congratulations on you blog-iversary!
