Tired

I have to admit, Harry Potter took a lot out of me (loved the book, by the way), so I haven't started a new project yet. So, instead of my own craftyness, I thought I would share some cool projects from other sites and a few links:

Beck's Blog - she makes the most AMAZING afgahns. Be sure to check out her Harry Potter themed blankets and one of her latest, Frankenstein.

Burda Style has a whole new look (and some new features too)! They are also looking for someone in the NY\Brooklyn area to do some sewing for their new collection (in the next 2 weeks) - if you're interested contact answers@burdastyle.com for more info.

Win a travel sewing machine! Just link to Craft Gossip to be entered.

Make a cardigan like Luna Lovegood's in Order of the Phoenix or try your hand at making a pair of radish earrings.

Ever wondered how those bias tape makers worked? Purl bee has a great tutorial for them along with a cute napkin project.

The Knitty Summer Surprises are up!

Think you've got what it takes to design a tee? If so, submit your entry to Threadless and you could not only win $2,000 but a slew of cool high-tech gadgets (can anyone say iPhone?)

A preview of the new Craft magazine is up (the new issue is available on newsstands August 7).

Now I'll be thinking about t-shirt designs all day, LOL. An iPhone & $$?? Woohoo! What geek wouldn't love that contest?

I have one that I purchased years ago from Joanns, but come to think of it, I don't think I've seen them there recently.

Clover is the Japanese brand that makes the bias-tape tools. Quilting stores/on-line quilting suppliers usually carry them. Try Hancocks of Paducah, Nancy's Notions, Clotilde(sp?),Big Horn Quilts, Lacis, etc.

Britex Fabrics in San Francisco had some last time I was there early this year. They do mail order but their prices are often more than elsewhere.

I have only one size and mine is so old it came only with Japanese box/instructions. It was a few years before I learned about pinning the thing to the ironing board! I had been pinning the fabric down and sliding the tool along it. That worked but not as well. haha.
