It's Friday?

It's Friday, already? Where has the week gone?

I have yet to start a new project since my Kwik Sew top - I am attempting to wait for my Onion patterns to arrive, which I keep telling myself is 'any day now'. However, if they don't show up in my mailbox this afternoon, I'm planning on starting Kwik Sew 3426 or Simplicity 3956. I'm leaning more toward the baby doll.

Even though I haven't been doing that much sewing, I have been catching up on my reading! This week, my copy of Vogue Sewing that I won from Cutting Edge arrived and I've been engrossed in it! I'll eventually have to put up a review, but there's so much information that it may take awhile. I can also stop stalking the postman for awhile, my February Burda World of Fashion finally arrived, yesterday. While I think this is another good issue, it's nothing compared to what March is going to be! WOW! I really can't wait for this one to arrive - let's hope I don't have to wait as long to get it.

I also visited MyShape.com yesterday after seeing the link on Lorna's site. Basically, you plug in your measurements (beware, there are quite a few to take), they determine your body type, and find the styles that best suit your shape. It's wonderful and very accurate. I was surprised to see that many of the styles that I prefer to wear are the ones that best suit my body. It also has a wonderful section on determining your color palate.

I also want to send a huge Thank You out to Bernadette who sent me the most wonderful Valentine package full of goodies from her recent fabric trip to California. She even included some beautiful geisha origami bookmarks for Taylor. I would include photos, but she's already inserted them into her books and is 'showing them off' at school.

Don't forget that tomorrow kicks off the big President's Day sale at most fabric stores! I intend on loading up on notions at Joann's, my supply is getting sorely depleted (I also plan on swinging by Hancock's for the 99 cent Simplicity patterns). What is everyone doing over the long weekend?

Hi Stacy! Wanted to drop you a note that the MOCCA fabric is by Alexander Henry, not Michael Miller (I found some today in my stash and checked it out).
This weekend I'm working (I'm an "as needed" physical therapist at a local place, and they need me tomorrow!) and we're celebrating Sydney's 1st b-day with my husband's family in Boston. I can't believe she's 1 already -the time flies!

Have a great w/e!

I bought Vogue Sewing too! I like it; it covers lots and lots of subjects! It's a good general reference but some special techniques are missing. It's the price for covering so many different subjects, I guess.
I'll be sewing during the weekend... I hope I can finish the Orwell Coat!

Hugs

Tany
