What Was That?

So yesterday, I'm sitting in front of the computer when I heard a loud 'crash' outside in the back yard. Crossing my fingers that another possum hasn't fallen down the window well, I ran upstairs to see what smashed into the house. That's when I saw this:

Now I knew that we were having high winds yesterday (we are under a high wind advisory), but I never expected it to move and tip over our patio table. The white stuff you see on the grass isn't snow, it's glass! In order to clean this mess up properly, we had to (shop vac) vacuum our grass. I'm sure that we got quite a few stares from our neighbors.

On a happier note, I had the opportunity to use a Christmas present yesterday - my gift certificate to Super Suppers. In about 1 hours time, I prepared 6 entrees (no chopping, cutting, or dicing just mixing and assembling) and didn't have anything to clean up. Last night we tried out the Lemon Dijon Tilapia with Confetti Rice Pilaf, yum!

I also sewed up another Wonder Woman apron. This one I put in my etsy shop! I thought that I would go ahead and give this a try - worse comes to worse, I'm out the 20 cents (each) listing fee and someone gets a Wonder Woman apron for a bridal shower gift (I'll have 3 this year).

Speaking of aprons, how did I ever miss this pattern? Not only does it look like a skirt, it's reversable too! Hoodie's Collection also has a number of bag patterns too - I'm thinking that I may give "Bean Bag" a try!

I hope you do well on etsy!

That Hoddie's circle apron is also very cute. (But odd that they don't tell you the prices, ordering method, etc up front!) It's like a wrap skirt. I think they may be the next skirt style to "come back". I could maybe wear one tied over leggings or slim slacks for swing dancing. It's always more fun to dance in a skirt but the vintage ballroom where we dance most often has no heating system!!! (usually plenty of bodyheat, though!) I often resort to slacks in the winter.

I finally snagged a copy of the 2/07 Sew News with your shelf bra article in it! Great job! It's a good article. Steps are very clear. Unfortunately, I need a bit more support than shelf bras provide.

One more thing - This past Summer & Fall, I put my glass-top table out under the trees (to enjoy the shade) in our backyard and a squirrel dropped hickory nuts down on it from high up in the trees and broke the glass! I am going to replace the glass with something that won't break.

(i must be the only one with too much time on my hands today!)

I was just paging through the new Hancock's of Paducah catalog which arrived a few days ago and found there some of the Hoodie patterns, including the skirt apron. They are just $7.98 each.

Yes, that's it!!! I originally saw the pattern in their catalog yesterday and fell in love with it. Unfortunately, when I went to try to buy it last night, it was 'out of stock.' I contacted Hoodie and she said that they are shipping to Hancock's of Paducah at the end of next week (so they should have it by the end of the month). I've put it on my wishlist so I don't forget about it! (She doesn't sell them through her site)

I can't believe that nuts broke your table! They either must have been very tough nuts or else hit the table just right! I'm not sure what we'll do about the table, I suppose I don't have to worry about it just yet, our high temps tomorrow is 28 (from today's high of 65, talk about cold)! And thanks about the article, I was a bit nervous on how it would read!

Our hickory nuts are huge and heavy and the trees are very tall and make LOTS of nuts some years. I should have known better. But you are right - one must have hit the glass "just right". The glass collaped into bits like a car windshield. At least it was safety glass. Luckily, no one was sitting out there when it happened!

Dag nabbit Stacy! Now why did you have to go and list a Wonder Woman apron??!! She was my idol when I was little! The plastic is burning a hole in my wallet. Must. Resist. Temptation . . .

I loved my WW underroos too when I was little - I even found an adult version a few months ago.

Love the apron- if I actually cooked, I'd get one! Keep us posted on how the etsy shop goes- I'd been curious about it, but I never seem to have time to make stuff to sell...

Love the Wonderwoman apron!

How is the etsy business? I've always wondered how successful people are who are selling there. I'd really enjoy reading about it in your blog.
