The Procedure and Miscellaneous Ramblings

Before I get to Taylor's procedure, let's talk sewing!

First off, I'm back to sewing clothes - I started cutting out Burda 8132 (the top) last night. It took quite awhile as I am trying to do a couple of different things with this particular pattern. For one, I'm omitting the zip and using a stretch fabric. Secondly, I'm using two different fabrics which took a bit of planning. I'm hoping that it will give it a different overall look. I'm having problems uploading photos, so the sidebar link is going to have to wait on this one! I also purchased some stripe interlock the other day at Needle Nook Fabrics which I plan on using as a second Butterick 4920 top. I had tried using some knit that I already had in my stash, but just didn't have quite enough....I plan on making sleeves this time around.

Since I haven't started sewing, I did some surfing today and found some cool links. Here we go:

Have you been looking for a new way to fold a shirt? Check out this video - I may actually like folding clothes with this method!

Check out these completely awesome knitted cupcakes - my favorite is the blueberry, complete with melting butter.

Speaking of knitting, did you check out Craft today? Nikol Lohr, author of Naughty Needles made these Katamari Damacy Queen of All Cosmos earmuffs (complete with secret compartment). Speaking of Nikol, her Naughty Needles site has up some free patterns.

The large scans of December's Patrones is up and once again, I'm in love with the issue. Oh, how I wish some publisher in the US would pick this magazine up!

CraftApple had a great link today about a template for a purse organizer. It's very cool and a lot like that TV infomercial for the Purse Brite.

Now, to the procedure. Taylor has a wart that won't die on her Achillie's heel. After numerous home treatments, Dr.'s appts. that cut, scrape, pour acid over it, and freeze it - she had another, this time burning and cutting it out. ICK. Bret thought that we should have taken photos. It wasn't so much the procedure, but the smell that got to me (think burnt popcorn, but worse). Needless to say, she's hobbling around in some pain, but is well enough to see a movie with a friend.

Get well wishes to Taylor! I hope the wart is gone forever.

Thanks for all the fun links. I checked them all out.

I first saw that shirt-folding method at an origami conference a few years ago. Then I saw it last year on Martha Stewart's ABC show. I think it's also on her website. Guess it's popular.

I'll have to check out the Martha Stewart site too! I'm going to have to sit infront of the computer next time while I fold laundry to get this method down.... it is just like origami!

Loved the links, especially the knitted cupcakes. I would love a pattern, usually those types are only crochet. I only knit and not really skilled enough to figure out my own knitting pattern :-).
Hope Taylor is on the mend!

Been there, done that on the warts. Ugh. Freezing them just about made me pass out from pain. Found the bandaid kind OTC stuff worked, fortunately. Hugs for her!
