Planning
Black Friday is creaping upon us - Ads have been posted and so the planning has started.
Of course, this entry has very little to do with sewing, but shopping the day after Thanksgiving has become quite the tradition with my mom and I - even if we don't really buy anything. Last year, however, I did buy a great rolling machine tote from Joann's for $20 or so (it even came with 3 zippered accessory bags).
This year, both my brother and sister in law are getting married. I may find some good household appliance deals and may sew up some aprons, potholders, etc. to add to it for Christmas gifts. I guess that means I better get cracking on sewing!
Anyone else out there planning on braving the crowds the day after Thanksgiving?

Thanks for the ad. I think the HDTV my husband craves is on it!
Some years I hit the sale day. Some years I delight in staying home and relaxing after a couple of marathon cooking days! But that's just the last few years.
For 12 years in a row, I had to work the day after Thanksgiving AND the Saturday because that's when G Street Fabrics' BIG winter sale began and there would be dozens of customers waiting outside the doors! It was always a wild and crazy weekend and busy until the sale ended at Christmas. There would be piles of bolts of fabric everywhere by mid-day. It was exhausting but also fun. (Now, G St has 4 stores and frequent SALES so there aren't those crowds anymore.)
So - if any of you shop the big day, please be extra nice to the harried sales people! One of our regular cutomers used to bring us banana bread each year.
