Prairie Moon Shirt

Today is a chilly, rainy day - perfect to hole up in the basement and sew. So today I gave the Jalie 2005 t-shirt another go using my Prairie Moon floral buttermilk from Emma One Sock:

I am extremely pleased with how it turned out! The v-neck is a much better style for me and the fabric was a much better choice than my original version. I really had to think about pattern placement on this one, several times I was going to have a giant flower right on my chest - eek! I also tried the sunflower placed right in the center front, which looked bad too.

This time around, I used a serger and woolly nylon thread to attach the neckband edges, so I didn't have any stretching out in this area. I also didn't do a blind hem, I thought that it looked too 'dressy' considering I was going to use it as a casual top. Now back to sewing.....

I love it! That fabric is awesome--I love the writing on it! I'm going to keep my eye out for emmaonesock to maybe get some more of that one in--it is super cute! Great job on your top!

Thanks you guys! I love fabric with writing on it too. Fabric.com had a satin version on their site and I almost got it as well. Then I thought people might start to notice that all my clothes look alike!

Stacy,

Boy are you fast! My fabric like that is still sitting in a pile...well then hey alot of the fabric I purchased recently is still sitting in a pile! *LOL* The tee is great! I think you have worked this pattern out to be your own and as far as more than one version is concerned ~ that's called style, girl! Wearing t-shirts with writing on you that fit and flatter - style!
